Probably on the Autobahn, so if it's a German car it would be 150 Kph. As to what passed him, a Murcielago maybe?

Let's think a second: guy stays in field of view (maybe 1/8th of a mile) about 3 seconds if I have it right. That would be nearly a 150mph speed difference, and at 140 kph, that's about 235 mph. Now, I don't expect the gif's timing is that perfect, but even so, I think we're in the right order of magnitude. That was *very likely* nudging 200.

I had that happen to me one time. Late 90's somewhere I was in Germany for work and had a Mercedes C130 as my rental car. Was cruising along the Autobahn holding my foot to the floor, passed someone and over the hill behind me came fast moving blinking headlights. I moved quickly over and WHOOSH... he was going MUCH faster than I thought. BMW 7 something big, big sedan that disappeared over the next hill and was gone. I was going 190-ish KPH as I recall it and that thing blew past me with a roar like I was standing still. I slowed back down to 'normal' speeds after that.

I called that C130 the "ford taurus of germany" (late 90's remember) - it was that or an Opel at the rental agency and I was like I'm in Germany, give me a damn german car!
